How many people called their insurance company to find out if the NT scan would be covered prior to having it done?

I did - I called for both the NT scan and the cystic fibrosis screening. My insurance covers both.

I did. My OB suggested it. Some ins. cos only cover 1 ultrasound.

I did not, with DD I just didn't even think of calling ahead since the Dr suggested it, I just assumed it was covered, which luckily it was. For this pregnancy I didn't because I already knew it was.

Nuchal transluceny - it is also sometimes referred to as the First Trimester Screen. It's an u/s bloodwork to determine likelihood of down's syndrome.

My doctor called for me and gave me the info on what my insurance will cover. They don't cover much, so I'm not doing it.

thank you! I go for my 8 week exam on Monday. I had an u/s at 6 weeks and saw the heartbeat. But I go again on Monday to meet with the Doctor and take a whole much of blood. I think I am getting another u/s as well.

I did and luckily we are covered. However, our insurance will be changing next year sometime. So, for baby #2 it might not be covered. For those who have to pay what kind of charges are you seeing. I know it probably will vary for everybody, but just curious. Thanks!

I called, they cover it, but since we still have to hit our deductible.... it will be $300. We're skipping it. If we had the extra money, I would love it. But just not feasible right now.

You might also check to see if your insurance has something called 4th quarter carryover. This is for people who meet of have money applied to their deductible in the last 3 months of the year, and then it will also apply to next year's deductible. That would mean you'd have to meet less deductible next year when you deliver.
