NBR** for those that have had a colonoscopy

did you drink all the prep drink..i think im going to die from it. its HORRIBLE. and when did you have a bowel movement? how long after.. 

also i have about 14oz left to drink and i feel like i cant drink anymore.. can i take a break from it and if it doesnt clean me out then add the last 14oz or must i drink it all now..this is brutal!!

    I know it's torture... but you don't want to skip out then not be cleaned out and have to repeat the process.   most likely you will be... but I've been there to recover people who did not finish or for whatever reason did not completely clear out and had to tell them they'd have to do it again.  that would be torture.

    Ugh, I had one a few years ago. It was horrible. No, I didn't finish all the drink. It was making me vomit and I just couldn't do it. I don't remember how much I had left, but I didn't finish it and the doc didn't mention anything about it.

    It took a few hours for the stuff to take effect, as I recall. I totally feel your pain. I don't ever want to have another colonoscopy again. I hope it goes quickly!

    thanks. i had one 6yrs ago but i cannot remember how much i drank, or if i had any left. this time it seems SO much worse. after 2 babies I cant remember anything anymore lol. I am hoping everythings a go for the actual colonoscopy in the morning. ugh. i really dont want to have to be sent home after this torture;0!!

    Probably chiming in way late...

    But it helps if you chill it very cold (put a glass in the freezer while you're finishing your current glass), mix it with lemonade flavor Crystal Light (only that flavor since you can't have any other dye colors like orange or red) and drink it via a straw. Those things will help (but it's still gross - I know - I've had 3).

    I had mine last year and just thinking about the smell of the liquid (lemon) just made me almost puke.  ERG!!
