Bed related wdyt?

SO i was talking to dcp about the Orion sleeping in my bed situation. She suggested getting him a twin bed, i explained that wouldnt work because then there would be no space in their room. Then she suggested a trundle bed. To me it seems like an awesome idea. But im wondering what the drawbacks could be. WDYT?

fyi : trundle bed is a twin (usually a daybed) with an extra matteress that can slide out from underneath it. Ususally you have the option to lift it up to make the bed a double size bed.

  • L & O share a room? What about a bunk bed? Lexi's big enough for a top bunk, isn't she?

  • My sisters had trundle beds and they were pretty cool. I suggest not raising the trundle to the same level as the daybed. When my sisters' were raised they were not very comfy, but on the ground they were not too bad.

I think they make the ones now that are more like a box trundle...kinda like a flower box with a mattress. I think those would be more comfy than the ones they had. Does that make sense?

The bed Lexi has is a bunk bed, its just not put together. ( these were my sisters old bunk beds. the top is currently stored at my moms)  I think she would be to scared for a top bunk and Orion is too crazy for a top bunk. Can you say evil kenivel? :)

I would try the bunk bed route too. She'll get used to it and you can make it a game or something exciting. I think the drawback to a trundle is you have to take it out and put it away every night. It's not going to happen (I know it wouldn't at my house) and you're not going to have any room to function in the room.

Hmmm, i didnt take into the lazy factor. And you are right it wouldnt get put away every night. :)

  • I had a trundle as a kid. I loved it.

    I say go for it.

also - if you leave it low then he can get in an out more easily. Just make sure when you pull it out for him that you pull it out far enough so that if she has to get up in the middle of the night she's not walking on him. My sister stepped on my head once and OUCH.
