Babies: 9 - 12 Months

I hate DH's job sometimes.

I realize there are many women who have it worse, so just take my complaint with a grain of salt...

He just told me that he "might" (translation: "will") have to travel for work "real soon" (translation: "next week") for an "extended period of time" (translation: "till Thanksgiving"). You know, I don't mind that he has to go sometimes, I really don't. But some lead time would be nice. And we have Christmas pics scheduled for next weekend. Grrrrrrrrr..............

Also, I hate being a "single mom".

Re: I hate DH's job sometimes.

  • Mine hasn't had to travel very much (and not at all since DD has been born) but he has to fly 2,000 miles away in January for awhile for some meetings and I'm not looking forward to it.

  • Sometimes I hate DH's job too for similar reasons.. they can change his schedule at a moment's notice for "business needs."

But then I think about my SIL, whose DH is in the Army and has to train for weeks and months at a time to get ready for deployment to Iraq for a whole year!  She's pregnant right now, due in early Feb and he leaves in March.. so yeah.  That snaps me back to reality.

  • I'm sorry I know how you feel! My DH is in the army. He just got back from Iraq late september (1st time he met DS) and is stationed in Fort Drum, New York. I am at home in Ohio. We are moving to Germany in January so it would be silly and too expensive to move twice. He comes home occasionally on the weekends, but it sucks being a "single" mom.

  • Yeah, it's the military wives who snap me back into reality. I could not do it. Just couldn't. Y'all (and your friends) are my heroes. For real. I'm too wimpy.

I didn't think I could do it either, but once you are in the situation you find yourself stronger than you think you ever could be! Its hard, but I bet you could do it!Big Smile
