Lurker coming out of hiding! :) Newborn Cloth Diaper ?s...

Hey ladies!

I've been lurking for months but just decided to change my name and start posting!

I have decided to definitely use cloth diapers for our first baby due in Jan, and have researched a TON and think I have it mostly sorted out.

My big question right now is if anyone has had any success in making their own fitteds for newborns?  I have quite a bit of time on my hands and would love to save the money on newborn diapers, but I'm worried about choosing a good pattern/good fabric without previous cloth diaper experience...  So if anybody has any advice about hand made newborn fitteds I'd love to hear it!

Looking forward to getting to know you guys and soaking up all your EFF knowledge! :)

  • Hi!  I don't have any experience w/ making my own diapers, but I know others have made at least some of their nb stash.  :)

  • K, awesome!  So, it can be done! :)
  • I know people like the Very Baby pattern for newborns, but I can't offer much other help since I don't sew.  I would try and search around for that one though!

People say they really like this pattern. I'm making and tweaking my own, modeling after KL and nb B4s, at least trying. Smurfette made most of hers too. Not sure what pattern she used though. KCK also has a newborn pattern you can buy.
