Recommend your monitor

I absolutely HATE the monitor we registered for when DD was born. It's a Fisher Price Light and Sound (or something like that), and the batteries hardly hold a charge anymore! The good receiver holds a charge for about 2 hours (if it has been charged all day) and the bad one only holds for about 45 minutes.

When we have another baby I am definitely getting a new monitor (perhaps a video one) so I need some recs of ones that have lasted! TIA!

Re: Recommend your monitor

  • We have the Sony Baby Call. It's been pretty good, no issues at all with the battery (we leave it unplugged pretty much all day and recharge it at night). It's also one of the only electronic type things we'll let DS play with, and it's stood up to some pretty hard core banging/sucking/dropping over the past few months. We're going to get another one for #2 :)

  • Another ditto for Sony!
  • Well I guess I'm the minority because I wanted to recommend against getting the Sony Baby Call.  I hate it.  The range sucks.  Our room is right next to DS room and the stupid thing constantly beeps telling me it's out of range.

  • I really like the Summer hand held video day/night monitor.  It works great!  And I got it for a very good price off of Ebay.
  • Summer infant day/night handheld video monitor is AWESOME! I love love love this thing. We got it when ds was pulling up and it was interfearing with sleep training. This was worth every penny and more. Best baby purchase we made for sure.
