Boo...I thought this might be an issue but was hoping for the best. DH's grandma, nephew, aunt, uncle, cousin, cousin's son (different immediate families) all have the flu as of right now.
I think we may just give it till the end of the week and see what happens. If Evan and I can get vaccinated before the party - then maybe we'll feel a little better about it - but we still don't want to create an environment where other people could catch it.
Not happy. I really want my baby to have a 1st b-day party!!!

The party is on the 14th. My OB is supposed to get her supply in this week and Evan's ped may as well. I think 8-10 days is enough time for a vaccine to protect you...but it may differ from person to person.
The thing is...there are other family members within these families. And who knows how long the incubation period can be for them. So people may feel fine but not be.
My OB said 2-3 days....so I'll have to do some research on this!
From CDC website:
About 2 weeks after vaccination, antibodies that provide protection against 2009 H1N1 influenza virus infection will develop in the body.

I just read that, thanks!
Man, my OB is really gonna hear it from me!!!
I thought the flu shot is supposed to take approx 2 weeks before it "works".
That really stinks... good luck
