Toddlers: 24 Months+

Picky eater!!!

My DS is 27 months old and the pickiest (is that a word?) eater I've ever seen. He won't eat meat or anything that is good for him. He will eat mac and cheese, but I can't let that be all he eats. And noodles. What do you ladies do to get your toddlers to eat? I just wanna give up...

Re: Picky eater!!!

  • probably a dumb ? but have you tried mixing in veggies and proteins into the mac n cheese? I don't have a picky eater but felt guilty feeding ds only mac n cheese when I was in a rush and so I would toss in some garbonzo beans or veggie dogs. Peas and carrots are a good one too. Have you tried tofu? You can bread it and cook up tofu nuggets in the oven since he doesn't like meat. Mine went through a phase of no meat at dinner and that's where all the beans, tofu and veggie dogs came in. The cookbook deceptively delicious has some great recipes for rice balls where you mix in veggies and pureed chicken. Ds loved them. Also has recipe for tofu nuggets and some mac n cheese where you mix in other stuff. Good luck

  • My 2 1/2 year old is so picky it brings me to tears. It seems like I'm the only one concerned about it, though. Everyone says that kids eat when their hungry but I'm just not OK with that. She is incredibly active and strong and full of energy. She has been a healthy child since day 1 and rarely gets sick at all. ?A couple of months ago DD would not touch cheese..now she loves the mozzarella cheese sticks. She turns her nose up to anything that is healthy and that includes fruits and vegetables. I just keep persisting and will actually spoon feed her. She is fully capable of feeding herself but if I am not there to put the food in her mouth, I doubt she would eat much of anything. Also, try the Jessica Seinfeld book which contains many recipes where you can sneak in fruits and vegetables. DD loves the french toast recipe! I hope our kids outgrow this picky stage.
