school me on pillows

DS loves pillows...he will run over and lie down on one as soon as he sees it.  What is the deal with toddler pillows?  Why can't a toddler use just a regular pillow?

    They still say suffocation.  Yeah, mine runs over to anything fluffy and lays his head on it too.  I think I might get him a super flat one and see how it goes.

    DD never stays put in one place in bed, but when do they say 'yes' to pillows?

    Huh. I guess I'm a clueless mom, lol. DS has had a pillow in his crib since about 13 months. He loves his - although I find him laying on the opposite end sans pillow sometimes....

    DS started doing the same thing with laying on pillows on the floor, or our bed, etc.  So I took that as a sign that he wanted a pillow!  I debated for a few weeks then one day when he was stuffy I put a really flat pillow that we already had around in his crib and he loved it.  He always falls asleep using it, but sometimes he does move around overnight.  I didn't buy a special toddler pillow, although I am thinking about getting him an ergonomic toddler one once he gets used to the one he has now.
