AW! DD did the cutest thing when I got home from work today!

I work PT on Fridays and Saturdays. DH stays home and watches DD. DD started crawling earlier this week and has been getting better every day. Sometimes she'll fall on her chest while she trying to go forward and then get right back up - it kind of looks like she's doing the worm :)

Today was a particularly long day at work (I am a social worker at a psychiatric hospital). I wasn't able to pump for 7 hours because I was so busy and my boobs were killing me. I was just feeling blah after working with suicidal people all day, in pain, and exhausted. I get home and walk into the room. DD sees me, her face lights up, and she made a crawling beeline right to me, not falling once. Then she put her arms up for me to hold her.

It brought a tear to my eye. It was the best thing ever.

    I've found the crawling to be a double edge sword - it's awesome and amazing to see her so active, but it's tough because she's already trying to get into everything. And when I have to stop her from going to her desired location, or take things away from her, she makes it known she's unhappy. She's so stubborn already! She looks like her daddy, but has her mother's temperment.

    I'm so not ready for this. We need to get some gates and do more babyproofing. I really thought we would have more time.

    When I was pg and interviewing daycare providers I saw a little boy do this exact thing to his mom and that memory has been burned in my memory ever since - I just remember feeling like I couldn't wait for my LO to do the same!
