How to handle indigestion?

So the past couple days I have this burning in the back of my throat, I'm sure it's indigestion/heartburn.

I've taken Tums every 4 hours, like OB told me to. I've stayed away from spicy foods and eating a lot at one time. I always make sure I can sit up at least a 1/2  hour after eating.

So what do you ladies recommend? Should I call my OB to see what else I can take?

TIA ladies!!  And TGIF!!!

  • Shoot, Tums do nothing for me. Call and ask if you can take Zantac. I take one Zantac 175 in the morning and at night, it's the only thing that cuts the reflux at all.

  • I will have to call my OB to see if Zantac is okay, and then stop after work to get some

This is some miserable stuff. Tongue Tied

  • Boy can I relate. It didn't start with Maggie until late in the second tri, but this pregnancy I've had it right from the beginning. It is miserable. I gave up avoiding anything and just eat what sounds good since everything gave me heartburn.

But the good news is, it goes away the second you give birth.

  • Good, because I don't think I could handle this stuff after the little guy makes his arrival.

  • I feel your pain! Tums seems to help sometimes. Some days it lasts all.day.long. and nothing helps Sad
  • Zantac!  I took Zantac 150 through most of my pregnancy.  Tums didn't do anything for me at all either.
