I bought a pumpkin frame last night from Target for $1 - instigated by a friend of mine, as that is VERY uncharacteristic for me - I usually avoid those $1 bins like the plague. Anyhow - DH gave me crap for it this morning. That and my coffee habit (which I have, IMHO, kept way down this fall). He compared it to the stuff he wants at REI - all of which is well over $100. Ah well - I shall go back to my avoidence of $1 items. That, frankly, really won't be that hard, but I can't believe I got crap for it the one time I buy something like that.

Re: I got in 'trouble'
Mother's Day, 2011
DH gave me hell the other day when I got a package from GudonyaToo. He said, "You're always ordering things" to which I replied, "Like soap? And shampoo? Damn me and my personal hygiene products! I should really stop bathing and save this family some money."
I mean, come on. I realize that there are cheaper options out there but this is the man who routinely wants to spend $50 on a Wii game. Give me a break.
WOW. $1 = $100? You learn something new every day.
And my dh smokes. He says nothing about the $$ I spend on me...usually anyway. He knows better.
Tis the new-new math.
Ugh! You just found my hubby pet peeve! I always go to garage sales and discount bins to get cute baby stuff. Mostly it was for my nephew and friend's baby who were born this year but I am adding stuff to a hope chest for myself (I'm trying to think positively!). He complains about it all the time. But he's a smoker. I'm sorry, but a $1 onsie does not compare to a $7.50 pack of cigarettes. I limit myself to $5 a week ($20/month) in random stuff. He smokes a pack in two days. And yet *my* purchases are wasteful. Grrr!
Men can be butts about lame stuff like that. I say it's only a buck. Sure it's probably cheap quality but it sounds cute and if you're going to use it, get it!
