3rd Trimester

Those with desk jobs?

How do you stay comfortable? I work from my computer and I can't sit for more then an hour and my right leg always cramps really bad so I have to get up! It always seems to be my right leg though! Is that strange?

Re: Those with desk jobs?

  • I get up every twenty minutes or so. And I prop my feet up. I can't stay put that long either without my pelvis hurting severely. So, I'll walk around the building or just our area.

I've tried propping my feet up and it only seems to make my right leg cramp even more! Sad

Maybe try a different chair? Mine is nice and reclines back.

  • My back just started hurting yesterday. I get up and walk around frequently, but it doesn't seem to help. Sitting at home on my couch relaxing doesn't seem to help either. I think I'm doomed.
  • I have a memory foam cushion I brought from home, plus a small pillow for my back, which helps some, but my tailbone and back still hurt a lot. I try to get up and move frequently, and LO lets me know if I'm sitting over too long, 'cause he starts moving and leaning on my bladder.

I don't get cramps in my legs, but I try to keep them out in front of me. It's just all-around uncomfortable, and I have about five more weeks to go.

Hopefully someone else has useful ideas for us!

ETA: I sit on the foam cushion and put the pillow behind my back or under my elbows. Sometimes helps, sometimes doesn't

I might actually go buy a new chair and see if that helps any! I work from home so I can't really just switch chairs cause there's no chairs to switch with! lol. But if it helps it will be well worth it to me! And if not, then I'll just take it back! I do data entry so I can't really recline! lol. Especially cause I have a huge screen already and since my eye sight has gotten worse I still have to look closer some times!

  • I sit on a exercise ball so i can bounce or sway back and forth through out the day. I also try to take walked on breaks around the building or office.

hmm...Maybe I'll have to give that a try! Thanks! Smile

  • I prop my feet up on a box under my desk and shift my weight often.  While I'm on conference calls, I just put on my headset and stand up at my desk for a bit.
