Pedi Appt today

So, it looks like Graysen is at the top of the charts for his height and head circumference.  And apparently he is OFF the charts for weight.  He's 13.1 lbs!!  My little chunkster :)

They wanted to do the Hep B shot today too - but I declined it and they gave me such a hard time!  The PA gave me all this info on WHY I should do it now and then when I refused again, she sent in the RN to talk to me.  Why is this such a big deal to them?  I simply see no need to put a vaccine against an STD in his body.  Yes, I know he will eventually need it - but not as a newborn.   I wonder if they will give me grief every time he needs vaccs because I am choosing to use a delayed vacc schedule...

Ughh...

    I'm glad he's doing well and that the appt was relatively good. 

    When you interviewed them, did you speak to the pedi about your vax plans? If not, I'd make sure you did now. If he's not on board & they're going to give you a hard time every time you go in there, I'd definitely start looking for someone else.

    I actually decided to just go with my general practitioner that I was already seeing for my care, because he accepts my insurance - but I never interviewed him as a pediatrician.  Now I am rethinking THAT decision.

    I admit the Hep B vax confused me too even after reading the Dr. Sear's book. I'd be surprised if your pedi would give you grief for a delayed schedule. It seems to be more common these days.
