Im just wondering if you guys think its stupid to do her birth announcements with a Christmas theme? I probably wont mail the announcements until shes like 2 weeks old and that would bring me into December. I dont care if I do two I was just thinking of saving some cash and making things a little easier.
Re: Christmas card/birth announcement
I'm planning to do a combo, and my EDD isn't until Jan. 12th. Or I may just skip the Christmas card and just do a birth announcement, with a family pic included. It just didn't make good financial sense for us to do two big mailings (about 100 on my Christmas card list) so close together.
I say a Christmas theme would be perfectly fine. Or just do a birth announcement and skip Christmas cards. Surely no one you know would expect both so close together! People really just want to see pictures of your kid(s). I don't think they care if it says "Merry Christmas" or not.

We're doing a combo!
I didn't like the standard options that were available so am having Swish Designs on etsy design it for me (she's a nestie/bumpie) and then getting them printed at Costco ($15 for 50). And then I'm planning to include a short Christmas letter because this year has had a lot of change for us
I just bought Christmas cards at Target that you slide a photo into. My mom will take a good picture of the 3 of us after we're home and settled. I'll probably put a little card inside with all of his stats for family and friends that want to know that stuff.
DD was born 11/9 last year and we did a Christmas themed birth announcement.
It said, "In this season of miracles, we introduce ours..." and then had all of her stats!
