urine burns??

i took off DS's diaper this morning and it looks like wherever his diaper was wet it sorta sunburnt his skin.  He's had the burning poops when he teethes, this is similar but it's never happened before.  any ideas??

    Any ammonia smell?  Maybe a detergent reaction?

    This has heppended to us - in fact, it just did today.  A nice warm bath (long) to soak their bottom, maybe a bit of bath salts to soften the water (not a ton), some bare butt time and making sure they're really dry between diapers (and limited wipe use)...it'll be gone soon. I'm sure they both just pee'd early and sat in it a long time - poor puddin' pops.

    Ditto - his pee could be reacting with detergent that hasn't been rinsed out well enough.

    i just bought some more northern essence...maybe that will help.
