Not only did it look like a weed wacked, but my husband happend to come in afterwords and couldn't help him self and laugh a me!!! Lord help me.... Re: To shave or not shave, That is the Question????

  • Not the same problem because I get waxed regularly. But typically the week or so after I get waxed, I have to do some maintenance to prevent ingrown hairs, but I cant see. So I can feel I have an ingrown hair, but cant get it out & I asked dh to help but he pretty much sucks at it. I wish I could see my vagina!

  • Once I could no longer see down there, I had DH do the trimming with his trimmer

I could shave the sides blindly, and he would trim the middle for me (like a landing strip, lol)

  • I feel like I'm in the minority here, but I'm letting it go until everything is all healed up postpartum. I had a bad experience trying to manuver myself in a way to get down there a couple weeks ago, so I've just given up.

Besides, I'm sure the doctor and nurses have seen worse, or, if not, it can't be any worse than what they have already seen! :)

I'm still not giving up on the legs those. They aren't going down without a fight!!

  • I've been shaving the whole time so I think I have just acclimated to the belly and learned how to maneuver around it.
  • Hand mirror + cordless personal trimmer set on #1 (I just take the guard off now).  Shaving is way too dangerous at this point but, trimming very short is safer and something I can do on my own without having to really see much.

I can't do this because it starts to itch SO bad when the hair is growing back. So far, I don't have a problem getting it done without being able to see as well. I guess I'll try a mirror when I get even bigger.

  • Yeah, I sliced and diced more than the hair so I'm holding off until I can see myself again.  Just not worth the pain again.

This. I finally broke down after weeks of letting it go and it wasn't that bad.

I'm with you, Sticky!  It's one of those things where I tell myself "The docs and nurse have to have seen worse things than this!"

Ditto.  It works well and I agree - I am too hot/itchy right now and have to be closely trimmed to be comfy.  Ordinarily I wouldn't care but I can't deal right now!

  • I can't see it or reach, so I have DH do all the maintenance these days.  It's working out pretty well and he's happy.

I'm with you both.  I still shave my legs and under arms, but the va-jay-jay can wait.  I'm sure the docs are not offended, shoot it's clean that's all that matters, lol.

  • I tried to let it grow out but it bothered me so i finally asked DH if would help and he actually did a really good job.
  • DH took care of me this morning, and I feel great again Cool

  • I have a personal groomer from Conair that I LOVE!  I haven't been able to see that area in a couple of weeks but when I shaved the other day I did a pretty good job using just my sense of touch.  Safer than using a regular blade and I feel better about myself.  :o)

  • I am still shaving... without being able to see but I do it everyother day so the spots I miss dont get too long... but with as much as I cut myself I think I might need to give it up... but then DH complains of "rug burn" while It is growing out.

You're not alone! I'm doing the same thing. I must say, it's pretty liberating not having to worry about shaving and trimming down there. I don't have to battle ingrown hairs! I figure this is the way my body is supposed to be and I don't think the midwife and the nurses are going to be judging me.

  • Funny you should bring this up today.  I was letting it go because I couldn't see, but I just couldn't take it anymore! This morning I tried to trim it up but from what I can tell, I didn't do a very good job.  I'm going to have to take DH on his offer to help out.  And after it grows a little I am just going to get waxed.
  • I tried shaving blind...it scared me.

I tried the nifty little personal groomer...it was still tricky, and the results were very weedwhacker-esq

Finally I tried Nair. It is the shiz-nit, and I think I may keep using it even after I can see my own junk again. :)

(bonus: Apparently my husband *really* digs the bare look, which means lots of extra "perks" for me..woot!)

  • LMAO. DH cut me off a few weeks ago because he admitted to being weirded out by having sex this far into the pregnancy. We just had this shaving discussion over Chinese this evening.  I haven't been able to shave down there for quite some time and I told him I would totally mow the grass (divets and all) if I had a guarantee it would get me laid.  Even THAT didn't do it for him.  I give up.  =(
