ok so yesterday I thought I should have got out the bella band b/c my suit was too tight....thought it was a suit issue. HOWEVER my pants today which are much lower riders are still not feeling too great. ![]()
when did you 1. start using a bella or belly band and 2. start maternity clothes? I understand that typically with a 2nd you start earlier, so I'm asking specifically when you did with your first LO? thanks! ![]()

YES this is my first and YES I am overweight.I got a Be Band around 12 weeks I think, maybe 13. According to the size chart, I should have gotten a M/L, but they only had S/M, so I got that. I don't feel like it's done a great job until recently when I've gotten bigger. It worked well enough, but I felt like I had to adjust it alot. Now that I'm bigger, it works much better.
I'm still holding out on Maternity jeans... and keeping my fingers crossed. I think that as long as you keep the Be/Bella Band low enough (like down on your butt) and just keep the top part above the waist of your pants, it will work. You just have to be willing to wear it low enough at the start.
I absolutely despised my BeBand. I think it was because my pants were already snug when I got my BFP, so early pg. bloat just busted me right out of them. The band rode up constantly and I was always messing with it. Plus with how often I was going to the bathroom, it was just the most annoying thing.
I started in mat. pants at 8 wks because I needed to be comfortable and didn't see much sense in buying regular pants that fit when I was just going to need mat. pants in the next couple months anyway.
1. 14 weeks
2. 22 weeks - half bella band half maternity and then by 26 weeks full maternity in pants
I hated the band.
My clothes started to be tight at 11 weeks so I went the baggy road for a while. I needed pants at 15 weeks; about half my tops still fit me but not for much longer.
