I just found out I have the compound heterozygote MTHFR mutation, waiting to see a perinatologist. My homocysteine levels were normal though. Any of you have this and have healthy pregnancy??
Thanks.

I have it and so far so good this time. I think there are also several women on this board who are homozygous MTHFR and are doing just fine too. Our peri told us that as long as my homocystein levels were normal, we'd be fine with just a baby aspirin a day. Good luck!

That's great news! Thanks SO much for responding and giving me hope! Yes after all the bad news, at least the homocystein levels were normal...I was hoping that would be reassuring.

i have it and my levels were normal too, i have a whole document of treatments and test the RE or high risk OB should do for you. i was adamant about the lovenox with a bfp as opposed to waiting to start it. don't know if its what helped but here i am and baby is perfect. PM with your email and i'll gladly send it to you

My homocysteine levels were normal, but I'm homozygous MTHFR+. I'm on baby aspirin once a day, folgard 2x a day, lovenox injections 2x a day, and an added oral prometrium 4x a day. Taking it one day at a time, and today I am still pregnant and I love my baby.

I have homozygous MTHFR (2 of the 'C'). I'm on 4mg of Folic Acid (plus a low dose aspirin) and am currently 37 weeks! GL! Oh...my homo. levels were normal, so no Lovenox injections.
1st m/c July 2008, 2nd m/c December 2008, Baby boy born in 2009!, 3rd m/c (c/p) June 2011, 4th m/c September 2011
Most people who are hetero for mthfr will do just fine on just baby asprin. It's a very common mutation. But some ladies do need extra intervention. I have both mthfr and factor v leiden and am on a lovenox treatment and so far so good. Also, my doctors said even if my homocysteine levels were normal it wouldn't mean they would stay normal while pregnant. So that will need to be tested once pregnant.
Another doctor to possibly consult is a hematologist. GL!
After 2 m/cs, dx October 2008 with hetero factor v leiden & mthfr & low progesterone; third time was the charm - BFP 3/19/09 on first cycle of clomid.
