I'm having a little GTG this weekend and would like some new vodka cocktail ideas. I'm so sick of vodka/cranberry and vodka/sprite. Looking for something a little more exciting.
Any ideas?
Congratulations to my girl AmberZ! So happy for you!
My favorite is vodka with O.J. and a splash of POM. So good! And if you want to get fancy you can add cinnamon sugar to the rim of the glasses!

Lots of love and luck to my PAIF/3T/IF Veteran ladies, especially my dear friend Zookie. Congrats to Papps, Teach84 and Starbuck on their little ones.
We like to get a decent vodka and set out a bunch of different fruits and fruit juices (and olives and vermouth) and have a make-your-own-martini bar. Or if you want to pick just one, everyone loves cosmopolitans:
Grey Goose was a sponsor of the US Open this year and I had this specialty cocktail while there. It was FABULOUS! I am sure any vodka will do:
Ingredients
1-1/4 ounces Grey Goose Vodka
1/2 ounce Chambord or another premium raspberry liqueur
Lemonade (homemade is best)
3-4 honeydew melon balls, frozen
Ice (crushed ice recommended)
Honey Deuce: the official cocktail of the 2009 U.S. Open Tennis Championships.
Preparation
1. Freeze melon balls: Place them in a the freezer in a single layer in a sealed plastic bag, for an hour or overnight.
2. Fill a chilled Collins glass with ice. Add vodka, then pour in lemonade to half an inch below the rim.
3. Sprinkle raspberry liqueur over the top of the ice, so it slowly trickles down.
3. Garnish with melon balls, speared on a long cocktail pick if you wish.

I used to be a greyhound drinker (vodka and grapefruit juice). I also like chocolate martinis. Start with a good chocolate vodka (my favorite is Van Gogh's double dutch chocolate) and then a chocolate liquor of your choice. It is usually a 1:1 ratio shaken with ice and then served up (no ice) in a martini glass. My favorite used a starbucks liquor (chocolate and espresso flavored) and was served in a powder sugar rimmed glass with a strawberry garnish. Yum!

I love Cherry Three Olives Vodka mixed with coke or sprite. YUM. They have like 20 different flavors and if you go to their website they have a ton of different recipes.
Three Olives makes a root beer flavored vodka, which you mix with Diet Coke. It takes exactly like root beer and is delish! (That is, if you like root beer.)

This sounds great!! I've never thought to freeze mellon balls to serve in drinks!
Electric lemonade is always good. Vodka, Blue Curacao, RealLemon lemonade, and a splash of seltzer to cut the sweetness. Very good, and quite potent. You can use flavored vodkas as well. Strawberry would probably be really good.

I went on their website and they have lots of great looking recipes! I printed them out. Thanks!

Also, I love vodka martinis. Here are a few that I've made at parties that are really good:
Lemon Drop: Mix 1 oz. lemon juice with 2 oz. vodka and 1 Tbsp. simple syrup. Shake with ice and strain into a sugar-rimmed glass. Garnish with a lemon slice.
Peachtini: Mix 2 oz. Vanilla vodka with 1 oz. Peach Schnapps. Add a splash of orange juice. Shake with ice and strain into sugar-rimmed martini glass. Place one marischino cherry in glass and allow to sink to bottom for peachy-looking effect.
Creamsicle Martini: Mix 1 oz. orange vodka with 1 oz. vanilla vodka. Add splash of triple sec & OJ. Shake with ice and strain into vanilla-infused sugar rimmed glass. Garnish with fresh orange slice.
Peppermint Patty: Mix 1 oz. chocolate flavored vodka, 1 oz. peppermint schnapps, and 1 oz. dark creme de cocoa. Add splash of cream. Shake with ice and strain into glass swirled with chocolate syrup. Yummy!
Three Olives or Sky Cherry Vodka,
Cherry (Diet) 7up,
Grenadine and frozen mixed fruit (more cause it's pretty and I like to eat it after the drink is gone!)

I don't like vodka/cran but I love Stoli O and cran. It tastes completely different to me for some reason.

Here are a bunch of Halloween themed drinks. Some are vodka based.

My personal fav vodka drink is white russians. Vodka, kahlua and milk.
Yum! You can add a little bit of soda water for some fizz or blend it up with some ice. I also love vodka mojitos with a splash of lemonade.
