Anyone taking Phenergan to help sleep?

I've had restless nights for a couple of weeks.  I called my doctor and she said she will call me in phenergan to help.  I get so nervous when it comes to taking prescriptions when I'm not preggo..the nervousness just doubles now that I am.  Is anyone taking phenergran to help them sleep?

Re: Anyone taking Phenergan to help sleep?

  • I have been taking Zofran during the day and Phenergan at night to help me sleep and curb the constant nausea.  Do you also have m/s or do you just need it to help you sleep.  If it's just for sleep, I'm surprised that she didn't tell you to take Unisom or Tylenol PM.

  • I took Phenergan during my first pregnancy to help with nausea and it worked very well for that and it helped me sleep. I could only handle taking half of the pill because it would knock me out for HOURS!
  • I wake up at various hours of the night wanting to barf, so it will help with the nausea as well as getting some good rest.  She told me to take 1/2 a pill every 6hrs as needed. I take zofran during the day as needed but I get pretty sick at night.
  • I am taking ambien to help sleep.  My OB said it was safe to take as long as it was ambien and not ambien cr.  I sleep through the night with the exception of having to get up and pee twice a night!

I hope the phenergan helps you.

  • Taking zofran during the day and sometimes phenergan at night.  I  wish I didn't need medication to control my nausea, but it gets pretty out of control. Last night I woke up at 1AM which seems to be pretty standard for me.  Very nauseated, empty stomach.  Phenergan definitely knocks me out.  I had a friend who took ambien during pregnancy and she started hallucinating.  Everyone has their own little trick.

Ditto this.  I took it prior to getting pg and I had to cut the pill in half.  And even on half a pill I was still usually groggy the next morning until about noon.  I know everybody has different reactions but for me it also made my feet kind of tingly like I had restless legs and I had to pee constantly.  And that was before i was pg.  I can only imagine what that med would do to me now.

  • I've been taking Phenergan since I was 5 weeks every night to help with m/s and sleep.  My Dr confirmed that it was perfectly safe and to continue as long as I'm suffering from m/s.  After that she recommended Unisom and Tylenol PM as sleep aids if needed.
  • My doc recommended 25mg of Benadryl. Knocks me right out. I take it with some Sleepytime tea, right before I go to bed.
