I have two pairs of gdiaper covers that I use with prefolds as inserts. They are the last ones I reach for. They don't do a good job of catching BF baby poo so the liner almost always gets dirty which means I'm constantly washing them. I think you're better off using a better cover with prefolds - like Thirsties Duos.

Thirsties covers are awesome. They hold even the nastiest poop expolsion in!
I have two shells for my dd (2.5) and they are also the last I reach for. My husband suggested putting them away for times we absolutely needed the disposable inserts (which I have a whole bag of).
They get washed about once a week and I've had them since July. They already look pilly and old. The laundry tabs never stay, so I wash them in a lingerie bag to minimize harm to other diapers.
Overall, I don't love the fit, they look like baggy panties to me. DD's genital area is still more or less covered in plastic so I don't think they breathe well. I use eco-nappi's as inserts and that seems to work well.
They are functional and I rarely have leaks, but they definitely aren't my favorite. If you are looking for something with a hybrid option, I like Grobaby's much more. Same kind of idea, better diaper.
