S/O Drunk-Have you been to a bar since LO?

I am going out for the first time Halloween..I never have more than 2 drinks & no longer BF but I am wondering if I can have fun or if I am going to feel like I am doing something wrong?

  • dh & I went to the hotel bar with my cousin and her fiance when dd was baptized. my mom took care of dd in our hotel room for the hour we were down there.

  • Honestly, I've been out a few times but all I do is miss him and feel what I like to call "mom guilt"- like I'm doing something wrong.  It's def not as enjoyable as it used to be, for me anyway.

  • We've been to a bar several times.  A friend of ours owns a bar and let's people guest bartend to raise money for different things.  A friend's coworkers' son has leukemia and has done several guest bartending events to help raise money for their hospital bills.  We've gone to all of those.

  • this weekend after a wedding I was in. my mom watched DD overnight for the first time so we took advantage. but i did feel weird.
  • I don't feel guilty and I do have fun when I go out (I've only been out a few times-mostly for work happy hours), but I end up worrying about how crappy I am going to feel the next day since I know that LO will wake early and my tolerance is so much lower now!  I also worry about how much DD will wake at night!

  • Sort of.

We were at the beach with my ILs and we had lunch at a bar/club, but during the day, it's more like a pub.

I haven't gone out partying.  I haven't been part of the bar scene in a long time.  I find it too expensive, I'd rather have friends over and drink.

  • Nope, DH and I even had a night where DD was with my mom and we ended up just going to dinner and coming home and drinking beers on the back patio. Which is what we usually do on the weekend, just without a baby monitor that time.

  • Nope.  And #1 is almost 2!!!

It's not a fair comparison b/c I have been pregnant and/or breastfeeding since March 2007.

  • I went to a lunch function for work and there was a cocktail hour before the luncheon.  There were a bunch of us standing around having a drink and I didn't feel guilty at all.  Of course, I only had the one (which worked for my coworkers--they got my extra drink tickets), but it was still fun.
  • Yes, I went to New Orleans with my BFF for her 30th b-day so I was in quite a few bars.
  • DH and I went out with a few of his co-workers one night.  We did end up having a really good time.  I was just anxious when we left and when we were driving home.  I didn't want to leave her and then I couldn't wait to get home, but I was distracted and had fun at the bar.

DH and I did a weekend trip to nola to spend some time together before he deployed. Not an ounce of guilt. But I think I would feel a twinge if I had just gone to a bar to get sh!tfaced here in town...Maybe I'm wrong, but I see it being situational.

  • We went out to a bar last month, and my mom watched DD for the night.  I missed her but I did have lots of fun.... I got a little tipsy too.
  • Have fun! Enjoy the time to relax
