Babies: 0 - 3 Months

I love when ppl say contrax aren't bad!

I was reading 3rd Tri for some reason and some poor girl said her contractions aren't bad....hahahahha. She is in the beginning I am guessing. She is in for a world of hurt before her LO is born. I thought contractions were the most painful thing in the world. I guess, though, some people have a different experience but I would say it was torture. Delivery was much easier than labor IMO. Now that I know what to expect the 2nd time around I will pretty much be terrified.

  • thats what early labor is for - to build your confidence and make you feel like you can do it! Don't ruin it for her, she'll learn soon enough. And, thats what meds are for...

I didn't say a thing because I didn't want to scare the poor girl! And by the way, your furbabies in Halloween costumes pretty much made my morning. So adorable. We have five cats, and you can bet they will wear at least one Halloween thing this year. They hate it though, but I just can't resist.

  • my contractions weren't all that bad - sure they hurt pretty bad, and i knew it was the real deal, but it wasn't horrific...then again, being an anesthesiologist, i got my epidural as soon as i arrived at L&D when i was 4cm, so i only felt the early labor ctx... Smile

  • LOL, I thought mine werent too bad until about 6 cm, then the crying, vomitting, and inability to breathe started. Just wait lady, just wait
  • Mine weren't that bad and I went natural.  The only part that I would call torture was transition and it only lasted for an hour and a half.  Until then, I was walking around and joking.  Everyone's experience is different.

    I agree
  • not everyone's experience is horrific...

mine certainly wasn't... I only got an epidural because I wasn't progressing past 6 cm...I would in no way call it torture...maybe her experience will be a good one..

  • I didn't think contractions were that bad. I had more trouble coping through transition and in the car, but it wasn't ever as bad as I was expecting

  • Mine were not bad either, but then again I only progressed to 1cm in 9 1/2 hours, and I always got the feeling that if my cervix were actually dilating it would be much worse. I hope to have a VBAC with my 2nd, with any luck I'll find out then!

ETA: FWIW, I had the internal monitor and they were actually measuring around a 9, they just weren't opening my cervix.

Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.
  • Well... they really weren't that bad IMO... and I went med-free.
