Anyone else feel they will never get everything done at work before leaving to go on leave?

I am starting to freak out...the work keeps on piling on (we took on a new client 2 months ago and I haven't had time to breathe since) and I haven't even had time to start organizing and write detailed instructions for those who are taking over my responsibilities..  Argh.

    I totally felt like this up until my last day. I made a huge binder with detailed instructions with every little thing I could think of. I know I still forgot everything. Eventually I just had to give up and tell them "If you need something that is not in here, I am a phone call away".

    *raises hand* me! Sounds like we work in the same place! I am done with my large client but have a bunch of small projects I'm working on. I'm taking 16 weeks for maternity leave and really starting to feel the pressure! Normally I would just suck it up and work late but I'm just too exhausted to work too late these days. I'll get it done some how I guess! Good luck!

    Funny you should mention this because its 11:30 and Im sitting here working from home trying to organize even more than I already have. I just dont feel comfortable leaving. Its not that I think my co-workers cant handle it because I know they can, I just feel extremely guilty leaving so much on top of their already full plates.

    I need LO to come so I can forget all about it! Big Smile

    I am on maternity leave and I still don't have everything done. I have to write lesson plans tonight. Ugh.

    I was feeling the same way for a while.  I gave myself a deadline, though, to make sure I had it all done.  I told myself that before I reached 37 weeks I wanted all my long term sub plans done.  It was stressful getting to that point, but I did.  It might be stressful now, but once you get them done, you will feel so much better about being able to leave work any day.  In these last few weeks it's been nice to just go into work knowing that everything is set to go.  As my OB told me, students learned stuff before you were there and they will continue to learn stuff after  you leave.  I think that can go for just about any job.

    I feel the same way. It's like work keep on piling up, but this time of the year is usually the busiest, so I'll do what I can and will let my boss take over, just like I did when she want on maternity. 

    All my big projects are done and she can deal with small ones.
