My students have been very excited to find out what I'm having. We just found out last week and I've been sharing the news with those who ask. One girl, upon hearing that I'm having another boy said "Well, you could always fall down the stairs and then start over!"

F!!! is wrong with people??? So far several people have reacted as if I was having a two-headed kitten instead of a baby boy when I tell them the results of the u/s.
She then went on to say that maybe he'll come out a little [and flopped her wrist] so that I can dress him up like a girl.
Sweet, gentle baby Jesus in a manger. I just told that those were not nice things to say and left it at that.
Re: Stupid comment from student
OH. MY. GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay you know this isn't stuff she made up on her own... This HAD to have come from the parent(s) in some way....
WOW>.. and we wonder why our society is so F-ed up sometimes!!!!
:::::Shakes head::::::
That is 100% NOT okay. Now you can know not to let either one of your handsome boys not have friends like her. I wonder in what world a person with any social skills would think it's okay to say something like that to another person.
If it makes you feel any better, I had to put out the pregnant student in my class today AGAIN!!! I wrote her up two weeks ago and she was suspended for 5 days. She's been back for three days from her suspension. What age do you have?
That hand flip comment made me lol. Kids are weird.
Sorry you got such negative feedback from your students though. Don't let it get you down.
thats crazy.
People are unreal. But your posting made me laugh out loud! I haven't encountered anything like this - but because there are only male grandchildren on both side of family.
We've gotten - the - "Oh another boy". I always say - we'll it's my first boy, the other kids aren't my children (yes they are my nephews but it'd different). Then they say maybe next time. To which I say we are focusing on this one first. Thankfully these comments did not come from either of our parents.
People are just plain weird. As long as the baby is healthly that is all that matters!
High school. Cute at this age, huh? I know this girl and she's normally great, but she just didn't censor herself today at ALL!

Kids can be so stupid. I remember my 14 year old BIL to be telling me (when I was engaged) that it would be hysterical if his brother (my dh now) stood me up at the altar. Little bastard. Reality is, I think he was struggling with coping with his brother getting married, and frankly he has attitude issues to begin with. Not my problem.
I might mention it to the girl's mom though, just to give her the heads up that her daughter's sense of humor is pretty f'ed up.
Marc'sMrs' dog's face says it all!
I do find it funny how people react to finding out what you're having. We have a 3yo dd, and I LOVE her to pieces. I would have been THRILLED to have another girl, so dd could have a sister. Now, we're having a boy, and we're still THRILLED to have a boy! But it's funny how many people, comment on how perfect my family will be now with a boy (as if two girls would not be), or my personal fav is "Your husband must be so happy" - well, yes, he is, and so am I! As if he should have been disappointed when dd showed up!
People just shock me - no filter!
Good luck with your students!
