where you aware when you dropped?

I was on the couch today and my dog sat on my bump (he's not very big). I realized I could take a really large breath and my bump seemed to have dropped. Could this be possible? I feel like I am much lower and can breathe easier, but I always sort of thought it would happen "over night."  Anyone else know when they dropped?

    It seems like some women know when they do. I was never one of them, and realized over about a week that DD was much lower- and I could breathe more easily, as you mentioned. And even then, I wasn't quite sure. But I've heard of other women say, oh, the baby dropped! So, it seems like it's totally possible.

    With DS I woke up and it was obvious that I had dropped. My belly was so much lower it looked weird. With DD I feel like I never dropped.

    I kind of did realize it - I don't know the exact second it happened, but I remember looking in the mirror and asking DH if my belly looked different and he said it definitely did.  Also, my bras had been really uncomfortable because they were digging into the top of my belly, and suddenly that wasn't so bad anymore.  And then the pressure on my pelvic bone confirmed it!

    Yes, not immediatley but I noticed I could breathe better and my ribs weren't under so much pressure.

    I never noticed anything with my son.  In fact, the day before I went into labor someone at my office told me I still had a long time to go because he was still so high.  So, I guess I don't put any significance in the whole "dropping" thing, at least when it comes to labor.  :)
