taking your temp w/o a thermometer?

in 2nd Trimester

so i've been BEET red since this morning and know i am coming down with something. problem is, i have no way to the store to buy a thermometer (i'm too dizzy and light headed, and hot!).. i know i have a fever, and if i took a pic and posted it it would appear i have a BAD sunburn on my face.

 

is there a way to guess? i'm thinking no, but if there was a way, ya'll WOULD know it! :)

    Uhhh well... My mom used to kiss my forehead and she said if my face felt hot to her lips I had a fever. Don't know how accurate this is though, as my mom is totally wacko. If you have chills, that's usually a good indicator.

    Unfortunately, the only accurate way to tell is with a thermometer.

    If you don't have a fever, it could also be a hot flash. I have those sometimes. I hope you feel better soon!

    I think that's just a mom thing. My mom has all kinds of crazy ways of "telling" that we have fevers, etc. I don't think any of them are actually accurate though Wink

    No, there's not.

    Feeling warm (by touch, kiss, or whatever) often isn't accurate either. We see people in the ER who think they or their kids have a fever because they feel warm....and don't have a fever when it's checked.
