they are well worth the money - and mamabargains has them 1/2 price often. they are AWESOME! Perfect when it's hot- just a little coverage without being hot - but also good when it's cold if folded up a little more... great for nursing, playing on the floor, swaddling (even a big baby b/c they are huge).
I have 8 of these so that i always have 2 clean and ready to go.
i have all Amy Coe ones. they are awesome. much larger than most and very durable. i have the ones that coordinated with both of my kids bedding sets and they are great.
i bought extra of each to make pillows for their rooms. they are sooo soft the kids love them for playtime.
You want the largest ones you can get, especially if you are swaddling with them (DS had to use the SwaddleMe cause he broke out of the receiving blankets). I have some that are tiny and aren't worth using.
We use Carter's, but haven't used them since the summer. Now we use heavier fleece blankets. I have heard nothing but rave reviews of the Aden and Anais blankets.
I probably wouldn't buy any until your showers are over. We got sooo many that I still don't think we've used them all.
Oh- and our hospital doesn't allow people to take the blankets. I know that a lot will let you take the diapers, etc but not blankets, onesies, anything that can be washed and re-used.
Re: Brand of recieving blanket you love the most?
aiden + anais muslin swaddling blankets.
but I wouldn't bother registering for any. people will get whatever they want anyway.
