Cool or warm mist humidifier?

Do you use a cool or warm mist humidifier.  We have a warm mist and it makes the room so hot and sticky so I am thinking of getting a cool mist.  What do you use for LO?

Re: Cool or warm mist humidifier?

  • Our pediatrician said cool only for LO.

  • I think cool is the rule...because warm is more likely to breed bacteria and cause burns???

  • Cool is what my pedi said.

Me too! We have a warm mist in our bedroom (where she is) and cool mist next to our woodstove downstairs. Will have to ask pedi about this.

us too! We have both cool mist and warm mist. We were using the cool mist when is wasn't so cold but now that its cold at night we use the warm mist. It makes the room nice and warm. Why aren't you supposed to use the warm mist??
