Both are cute names but super popular. I have 4 friends with little girls named Riley (aged newborn - 3) (4 different spellings too, lol) and 3 Addisons. It just depends on if you care how popular it is or not...
I really dont like Riley and Addison for girls if I had to pick, Id say Riley.

This. I know 3 Rileys and 3 Addisons under one year
I like Riley way better than Addison. Riley (for a male) was a family name for us, so DS#2's middle name is Riley. Although I'm usually not a fan of boy names for girls, I think Riley is super cute either way.
In my opinion, both are overused and way too masculine next to the lovely and super-feminine Sophie. I don't like either. Maybe Adelaide or Adela if you like the nickname Addy?
If I heard siblings named Sophie and Riley, I'd assume Riley was a boy.
I'm not wild about either name & they are both really popular right now (if you care about that). But I do love Addy as a nickname. If you like that nn, as pp suggested, you could find another given name to use it with such as Adelaide or Adelle.
I have a 4 year old cousin named Riley I think it is cute but a little too popular for my taste. I have never met any Addison's but I'm not a huge fan of the name. Good luck!

I don't like either name. Both are trendy and will sound dated. Even though Sophie is popular, it won't sound as dated as Addison or Riley. I don't think Sophie goes with either of those names. Just my opinion. I think Emma or Emily sound cute with Sophie.
Ick. ?Too trendy and starting to sound tired. ?Agree with the pp that Addison = the new Madison. ?Riley just isn't a pretty name (imo) and I can't understand why it's so popular.
Sophie is a popular name as well, but it's also a nice classic name. ?I'd try to find something more classic for #2 as well and avoid such trendy names.?

I feel your pain. I like the more popular names too and am wrestling with how much I care whether they are popular. There are SO MANY girls names that if thats what you love- dont worry too much about it. I should take my own advice. That all being said-- I much prefer Addison to Riley. I agree with the person who said Riley sounds like a boys name-- particularly with a Sophie. Addy is so cute. Good luck!
Re: Baby Girl Names - Riley and Addison- opinions welcome.
Sophie goes better with Addison.
