I hope this is a short-lived policy and/or that HealthEast doesn't follow suit. I've been upset since the news broke at the possibility of not being able to see DD for 2-3 days while I give birth, not to mention bringing home a new baby to an 18 month old who hasn't seen her mom for 2-3 days!
Called my hospital and luckily we don't have any visitor restrictions. They do request that you have the baby "room in" though if you plan on having a lot of people to visit. We were already hoping to do that, so not a problem for us!
I'm all for it since I don't want people coming to the hospital anyways. Plus, I would much rather be safe than sorry with the flu and H1N1. A friend has a 10 week old just diagnosed and it is terrifying for them. I don't want to deal with that.
