Is 1st tri bloat normal?

Because if this is not bloat I am going to cry. My stomach is so huge. It's just not right. I feel so gross. And that on top of the nausea and exhaustion is just downright depressing.

I hate to sound whiny when I know we're very lucky to be having a baby (and I really am grateful and excited), but I just had to get that out.

ETA: I know I should remember this, but I think I blocked out the majority of my first pregnancy. :)

Re: Is 1st tri bloat normal?

  • It sure is normal when I'm pregnant! I was bigger at 10 weeks from all of the bloat than I am now at almost 18 weeks. It started going down between 12-13weeks. I had to get out the maternity clothes for a few weeks, put them away for a few more weeks, and then get them out again!

  • YES! I didn't have it, but if you look at most posts on the 1st tri board, they all talk about it.
  • Oh, thank goodness. I was just envisioning how huge I would end up by the time the baby's born if I continued blowing up at this rate!

    Thanks girls.

  • Yes it's normal, but you also tend to get bigger earlier with second babies. Smile
  • I was so bloated during the first tri. I was never that bloated w/ DD. It went away around week 11, I think. I felt so much better!

  • Bloat or whatever, I was noticeably pregnant by the time I was 11 weeks w/ #2.  Mine just started growing & never stopped!  I am pretty small framed & don't have a lot of places for it to go- so it went straight out.
