Please help, 2 month old, constipation

Ava is 2months. She had her first shots today, so she already isn't feeling good, and I hate that she is having trouble pooping. We switched her to soy formula about a week ago, and she has done so much better on that, but, I think it's backing her up some. She has been straining for 2 hours, she finally went a little bit, and it was like play-doh, and not a whole lot. What can I do to help her with this? The doc said give her more water, but does anyone know of anything else? How old to they have to be before they can have juice? Thanks so much ladies:)

    Our pedi said we could give DS 1 oz prune juice with 1 oz water at 6 weeks. HTH.

    Tobi Our ds's ped said apple juice diluted w/ water is fine for constipation as ds struggles sometimes to go. So I have been giving him it x2 a day which she said is also fine. HTH

    we have been dealing with this the last few weeks also. if she's not too crabby from being backed up yet, i put her on my bent legs and put her feet up near her tummy and it seems to help. the bicycle never worked for us. one time DH *spread her butt cheeks* lol and she almost sprayed him with her poo! it sucks so bad though when you just want to help them get it out and they can't :( GL
