My Hubby is sick with Pneumonia

Sad This is sad. I hate when my husband is sick. I always feel so bad. Usually he is so strong and good about being sick lol...well as good as he can be I guess. I'm just glad I'm not sick...yet. Crossing fingers.. Pneumonia is the last thing i need....and the swine flu lol.

Re: My Hubby is sick with Pneumonia

  • I don't think pneumonia itself is contageous...just the virus that can turn into pneumonia.  Hopefully you are in the clear though!

My husband also had pneumonia this week. My doctor (GP, not OB) said that the viruses that lead to pneumonia are contagious, but ALSO, one type of pneumonia itself is not contagious, and one is. I caught pneumonia from him and had to go on antibiotics myself.

When I called my OB to tell them that I was going on antibiotics, they told me that they would have put me on a Z-Pack as soon as they found out my husband had pneumonia because it is so concerning in pregnancy. But I also have asthma, so maybe my situation is different.

oh thanks..maybe I'll make a call just in case to see what my OB says. Usually i don't fret to much until I have a fever and it's uncontrollable but maybe I should watch out. Thanks.
