  • I'll be asking this all day, would you choose induction at 38 weeks or having to give your baby oral steroids?

  • Did the smells bother you?  I have a very strong smell aversion thing going on right now and I'm worried.  I'd prefer NOT to vomit during the c/s...

  • Induction for what reasons? I was induced at 39 weeks for pre-e and Dillon was as healthy as a horse. While, I know it doesn't work that way for everyone..they kept tabs on him while I was in the hospital on bedrest. Have done done bio physical profiles to monitor his breathing and such?

I don't remember the smells, honestly. I remember the pulling and tugging sensation the most. it was not painful, just uncomfortable. My biggest problem was gagging and shaking after they pulled him out, from all the change in pressure.

Smells bothered me my entire pregnancy, as did puking. I didn't puke on the table or in recovery. Meat, candles, cleaning products, grass, lotions, perfumes, body wash.

Hell, I can't use the same brand body wash anymore...the smell has tainted me.

I did not have an issue during my c-section.

if you get nauseous, tell them--they will give you anti-nausea meds in your IV.

    are you an expert?

No, but....I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.

Everyone's experience is different.  I did smell cauterizing, but it didn't bother me.

You can rub some vicks vaporub around your nostrils to mask any unwanted smells out.

    Ditto!

    They gave them to me.

  • If you puke laying down do you still pee? LOL...Seriously anyone know?
  • They'll most likely cath you.

    You'll have a cath.

I didn't feel it, they put it in after my spinal tap.

When they took it out the next day, I felt a little pulling and that was it. It took me awhile to pee on my own and it was a little painful for the first few days. Not sure if that's the norm, I have bladder issues.

oh a cath! I'm so glad you said that!!! I forgot about a cath!

Well, operating rooms have a sterile smell to begin with.  It's a little bizarre, but it's not bad.

Then, there's the smell of blood and other bodily fluids, and there is a smell when they cauterize the uterus.  It bothers some people.

It was noticeable for me, but not bothersome.  I've been in on more than a couple surgeries.

  • ok, dr said hopefully i won't need a c-section but if i do i will put vicks or something like that under my nose. thanks.

he is inducing me in a few weeks due to BP issues
