Eating small meals more often, does it help?

I have come to the conclusion that I feel the sickest when I try to eat a full meal. ?I am so hungry before I eat, but then the minute the meal is over, I want to puke it all up. ?

  • yes, small meals through out the day are better than a big meal.  I'm like you.  I'm sick if my stomach is empty and I'm sick if it's full.  It's hard to find that happy medium.

  • Eating smaller meals seems to work for me. I've been eating every 2-3 hours and it keeps the nausea at bay.
  • My secret is raising your bood sugar really quickly.  When you feel nauseaous, pop a sour patch kid in your mouth.  That will quickly raise your bood sugar and you will feel better for about 5 minutes.  During those 5 minutes, get some food in your stomach.  If you are really nauseaous, start with fruit.  Continue to eat sour patch kids throughout the meal if you need it.  It works for me every time!

  • Absolutely! 6 small meals instead of 3 big ones. I always try to have something in my stomach (even if it's just a little fruit or a few crackers). It really helped last time and sure enough, it's helping this time too! Good luck!

This for me too, today I brought a pack of gramham crackers to eat when my stomach starts to hurt.

  • I've found I don't feel sick if I graze all day long.  It's when my stomach is too full or too empty that I get nauseated.  I eat my pita and hummus now, in a few hours I'll eat a bit of soup. Later I'll eat my fruit.  It's the same lunch I normally eat, just spread out over severl hours.  Same thing with breakfast and dinner.
  • I discovered this the hard way. I'm a first timer, so when m/s hit this weekend, I just stopped eating because I was so sick. But I found out that if I start munching on crackers at the first sign of sickness, it keeps it at bay. I hope this continues to work. I thought I was going to die this past weekend.

  • Whew! Glad to know I am not the only one in this boat. If you find that "happy medium" someone talked about let us know! Good Luck!
