How long did you wait to tell ppl you were preg?

I waited until about 10-11wks to tell ppl (besides CLOSE family and my bestfriend). I am just curious bc I know so many ppl who share the news right after they test. I was so scared of a miscarriage that I waited until then.

We waited until after the first dr's appointment to tell our family. I was only 6 weeks. After that it spread like freakin' wildfire, as soon as my SIL found out. I didn't really bother telling anyone until after my first trimester was good and over...but most everyone knew by that point!

I miscarried with the first so we waited until we were 12 weeks along to tell people the next time. Having to tell people that you are no longer pregnant was the worst. Crying

Pretty much 7 weeks thanks to a loud mouth coffee cart lady at my law school. I was studying for the bar and telling her why I couldn't drink any more espresso for the migraines I had been experiencing. BLEAH!

After that, everyone knew.

But we told our parents right after we POAS and got the positive result. It just seemed so miraculous.

I waited until we heard the heartbeat around 12 weeks. We told our parents around 8 weeks but swore them to secrecy until I was out of 1st tri.

I was also scared of a miscarriage and didn't want to have to untell everyone.

Dh was pretty much telling people as soon as i POAS! I tried to get him to stop, but it was kind of cute...luckily everything went ok...I think he even told the chinese take out guy...

I waited until I was 16 weeks. I didn't want to tell my brothers over the phone, and I also had to have oral surgery, and didn't want to tell everyone until I was out of the woods.

we didn't tell a soul til we heard the heartbeat at 12 weeks. it took us a long time and a lot of effort to get pregnant, so we didn't want to go through more emotional turmoil if we lost the baby. my SIL m/c 2 in a row and it was hard seeing the family get all excited then have to grieve the loss.

We waited til 13 weeks to tell most people. Before that I only told my best friend, my parents, his parents, and our siblings. I was terrified of miscarrying so I wanted to wait until I was out of 1st tri. However, I didn't tell my work til I was about 17 weeks.

We told our moms and dads and siblings the day after we took the pee test That was like 5 weeks.

We told everyone else at 6 weeks. LOL. We can NOT keep a secret!

5 week we told our parents and my sister. 8 weeks I told my work department earlier than I would have liked but I couldn't do our training that was scheduled due to the physical stuff. Our friend at 13 weeks.

We told our parents at 6 weeks and the rest of the family at 10 weeks after we had our first ultrasound.

We basically waited until the 2nd trimester. I didn't want to tell anyone earlier because I had a m/c previously and we happened to also have a large family gathering where I was able to tell just about everyone at once.
