Confession: I hate the "pregnant pose"

When I open a post and someone has a pregnancy photo, I snarf ( is that word?) if they are in the "pregnancy pose"

one hand on top of the abdomen and or one hand underneath (as if you have to hold it up), back arched to make it stick out further, looking at the camera from the side.

I don't know why it annoys me, other than it's pretty effing obvious you're pregnant, do you really need to clutch the pregnant abdomen to drive the point home?

I should have saved this for FFFC

  • Lol.

I found myself resting my hand on my bump in public during 2nd tri. I think I wanted people to notice I was pregnant and not fat Big Smile

  • LOL!  I totally do the side pic and my mom teases me about it!

  • Blushing's photo = FAIL to Bonzer!

Here's my justification for my belly holding. ?If I didn't with this shirt you would not be able see the whole bump cuz its loose fitting on the bottom. No idea why I always pose with my hand on my back.?

  • LOL! I knew the pose you were talking about even before I opened the post.  It bothers me to, and for no real reason it just does.
  • I'm not gonna lie... any pics that involve my face since getting pregnant have been taken from the side since it disguises my second chin. Embarrassed

  • Crap...I just did the "pose" minus the arching back.  Who can arch their backs anymore w/o getting some major muscle cramps?!

    Sorry Bonzer!!!

  • I dont mind this pose so much as the two hands that make a heart shape on the belly. That one gets me.?

  • I'm not a big fan of them either, but my photographer asked me to do it a few times, so I did.

  • I know it's "trendy" right now, but I don't really get the baby shoe pic.  It seems really random to me.
  • LOL I pose like that so that my arms look skinnier.  I know it doesn't do much, but every little bit helps haha
  • funny!!!   i am glad i don't take any pics like that! :)   i posted a few weeks ago or maybe last week that the pics with the shoes are what get me.   just funny to see this little pair of shoes next to a big ole belly :)
  • I find myself doing when im standing all the time and i get so annoyed but its so comfy.. DH is like are just trying to show it off? lol

  • I've done it a couple of times... brings the shirt in to see the "true belleh"...  And my back has started arching naturally, to compensate for the belleh (my big ol' booty also makes my back look like it's arching a lot!!)...

  • I do too!! Worse part is I'm a total double standard cause I'm doing progression shoots and I'm the first one she's done so I'm doing it in EVERY picture! LOL
  • I've been doing progressive photos and most of mine show me with my hand above my tummy. Mainly I do it just so I can show where it starts and to hold that part of my shirt up above my tummy. I don't have one on my back cuz that hand is holding my camera :P But i can see why you would do it. It helps to show what may just be your shirt making an illusion that your bigger than you are vs what you really are at.
