Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

I am so sick of diapers

We've been trying different brands, different sizes - yadda, yadda - since DD was 12 months old.  I am so sick of leaks.  I am so sick of times that a diaper can't last more than an hour and a half.  I mean, I don't think this girl is drinking too much, but maybe I'm wrong?  6 oz milk when she gets up, water during the day, 6 oz milk after nap, 6 oz milk before bed.  Right now we're using Pampers Baby Dry, again, moved up to size 6 this time, twice in the past couple days she hasn't "leaked" but did dampen.  Last time we used Pampers size 5 and I do remember her leaking, at least once.  Sick of diapers.

Long ramble over.  If you've got ideas or just want to tell me anything, TIA!

Re: I am so sick of diapers

  • I don't know what to tell you about diapers, we use pampers cruisers and work well for us.  I'm pretty sure DS doesn't drink that much throughout the day but he doesn't have a set schedule or set amounts he drinks.  He just gets a sippy with each meal and always has a sippy of water around when he wants it.

  • sounds like maybe it's time to try cloth! no leaks, no blowouts, no diaper rash. all stays fresh and dry. :)

if you're hesitant about the transition, i recommend starting with gdiapers (https://www.gdiapers.com). they have flushable/biodegradable inserts that you can use as well. easy on the environment, too - and totally adorable. they fit well, and create a nice seal that keeps wetness in - even overnight!

    good luck!

  • I agree...time to try cloth.
  • I agree with the cloth sentiment. We have very few issues. Jillians Drawers and Nikkis Diapers have diaper trials at little to no cost.
  • I've been thinking about going cloth.  We'll see, thanks!
  • I'm going to suggest cloth too.  We almost never have leaks, and we've never had a single blowout.  She almost never has nighttime leaks.

Maybe you can order a few cloth diapers or one of those trial kits and try them out?  They cost more upfront but you save tons of money in the longrun, especially if you are planning to have another baby (you can use the diapers on that baby too).
