I'm an IUI success story, and my RE's office will monitor me until about 8-10 weeks, when they turn me over to the OBGYN. when did you call your OBGYN to set up your first appointment?
my RE told me to schedule an OB appointment for a month from now (well, 4 weeks from our first u/s, which was yesterday). so that means the appointment would happen when i am 10w2d.
i still have to call.... it seems a bit odd to be thinking that far ahead at this point!
Brought to you by IVF, ICSI, limited fert, and oocyte cryopreservation. Because we're fancy like that.
My RE told me at my first ultrasound at 7 weeks to go ahead and call to schedule an appointment with my OB. I then had another ultrasuond with my RE and she double-checked to make sure I had an appointment scheduled before she released me.
It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!
IVF #1 - BFP (6dt)
Unassisted Pregnancy #2 - lost at 15w6d due to T21, severe heart defects, and fetal hydrops
I didn't have an OB so I waited for RE to recommend someone which happened to be right down the hall. We he release me, I walked on down and made an appointment.
My RE was over an hour away, so they had me call my OB/GYN for a beta when I POAS and it was positive. My OB/GYN knew that we had TTTC and had my beta done at 13dpIUI, then scheduled me for an appt at 5 weeks for a repeat beta and to discuss what had brought us success, then I had a repeat beta two days later and an u/s appointment at 6 weeks. After that, however, if I hadn't had any other problems, I probably wouldn't have seen her until 12 weeks (I did have bleeding issues so I saw her probably 6 or 7 times from 6 weeks until 12, unfortunately!).
I'd go ahead and call your OB/GYN, tell them when approximately your RE will release you, and see when they want you to come in. Congratulations and good luck!
After 20 months TTC with PCOS, we were blessed with twins!
They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
My OB's office would not let me make an appointment until I was "officially" released from the RE, so I called that same day. Both times they were able to get me in for my first appointment within a week.
Re: when did you call your OBGYN?
You probably need to go ahead and call...but you probably won't see the OB till 11 or 12 weeks.
Mine is sometimes difficult to get appointments that fit my schedule, so I like to call early just so I have the appt time I want.
Congrats and good luck!!
