Up until last week we had been giving DD 6 bottles of formula of 3 - 3/12 oz. She sleeps through the night so would get her 1st around 6 - 7am and then one every 3 hours till her final bottle around 9pm. She also gets juice 1x per day due to constipation. Since I have been back to work it has been harder to get in all 6 bottles because our sitter lets her sleep. (And backstory, DD isn't the best eater anyhow and sometimes just doesn't want to eat but she is gaining weight just fine.)
So last weekend I had a three day weekend and I decided to try dropping a bottle and just doing 5 per day and upping them to 4oz each plus juice 1 or 2 times daily. We've had pretty good success so far and she seems to eat better now that we are spacing them out more. She gets her first bottle around 6-7am, and then again around 10am, 2pm, 6pm and 9pm. The last bottle is still a struggle and at times i think we could put DD to bed even earlier but we have to get that bottle in. I'm just wondering if it makes sense to try and put her to bed earlier and if so, how do I adjust her feeding schedule? I feel like I can't cut another bottle out but sometimes she isn't hungry or sleepy.
If you've made it this far, thanks. Feeding stresses me out way too much!
Re: How Many Bottles at 4 1/2 months
I'm not sure how to answer this question because we've never had a "schedule". We've always let DS call the shots. He doesn't eat the same amount at every feeding, and doens't eat in equal intervals, or anything predictable
So my answer is "follow her cues!" :-)
