I have the FP rainforest high chair and the strap is redonkulous. I took it out completely. I think the tray and the post between the legs is enough to keep her in there, dont you?
I don't use the straps either. I have a Mojito highchair and the straps are like carseat straps! The post between his legs has proved to be sufficient even when he has tried really hard to squirm his way out.
I do, but I noticed MIL doesn't. But I always use the straps. I recall somebody making fun of me (in fun) for even strapping him on the diaper changing pad.

I do. I'm too afraid she will get out somehow when I have my back turned or something. But I use it a lot while I'm cleaning the kitchen and I don't have my eye on her the whole time so I have to strap her in.
I don't use the straps - the tray keeps her in place for now and I only put her in it when I am literally right there in front of her, feeding her breakfast and dinner.

Re: Do you actually strap your baby into the highchair?
I don't strap him in either.

If I'm feeding her and right there I don't.
