We have our crib, but that's it. It's a honey-oak color. My parents are buying me a matching glider-rocker (and ottoman) for my birthday next month. I'm still looking for a changing table and storage unit (something with baskets perferably).
I can't find a changing table that I like. All of the reviews on the ones I like say the color is much darker IRL. I found a really cute changing table w/ lots of storage, but it's white. Our nursery has all white trim and a white chair rail.
Would it look strange to have a honey-oak crib & glider, but get a white changing table? I'm probably over-thinking this way too much.
Re: WWYD Re: nursery furniture matching
Ours doesnt match....but then again none of our furniture matches at all.
Our crib is a honey oak color, changing table is a painted light greenish color, and dresser is painted white and yellow. Still looks ok to me though. But I'm not really much of a fashionista and a matchy matchy kind of gal...for of a functionality one. ;o)

Here in the power of Christ I stand.
We had a simular issue, but at that the same time, we don't have an actual nursery just yet. (It will change as soon as we find a house that we like)
Our crib is espresso and our Armoire is also espresso, but a little lighter one, they somewhat match, but the way I was thinking is that we'll probably have other things in the room as well, so as long as the color matches to something in the room, you are fine.
What color is your bedding?
I don't personally like matching furniture all that much, I like a more eclectic look. Our bedroom, living, dining room etc don't match and I LIKE it that way. Baby's room has a cherry wood crib, the glider is upholstered so it doesn't count, the dresser/changer and bookshelf are stained red and there is a small lamp table that will probably be painted--- but I'm not sure what color yet.
I think it will look fine!
I don't mind non-matching furniture.
In our nursery we black and espresso/cherry furniture and it looks fine. You can see pics in my bio under nursery.
oooh I am going to be no help... I have been fighting with my DH that our furniture has to match because we have a convertable crib and convertable dresser/changing table. We bought the dresser from a friend and are looking for a very similar crib and I am trying to explain that it has to match because our LO will have it for a long time.
Sorry... I am no help but I am glad that others are thinking about this.
