hating car seat inspection guy

So I went to get my car seat inspection done -- good news was that dh had properly installed it in my car. BAD news was car seat inspection guy tells me "i havent said this in like 8 years, but you really need to buy a new car". WTF?! Great thing to tell 9 month pregnant lady who already knows that her car isnt ideal. Now I feel like crap for putting my baby in my car. CryingApparently its unsafe because even though seat is installed properly, the front seat hits it (even with it pushed forward all the way). There is no other place to put the car seat.

I was laid off the week after I told my work I was pg. I had a company car that was a SUV and lost it obviously. I was the main provider for dh & I since I made about 3x as much as him, so buying a new car isnt an option right now. I was thankful I had my "fun backup car" to drive.

    I was told my VW Jetta wasnt the best baby car as well by the inspector.  I said well this is what I have and it is a 2009 so I am not getting anything else any time soon.  No worries people are buttheads!

    I'm not sure about it being a good baby care, but Jettas are very safe cars.

    We're scrambling to get a new car in these next few weeks, and let me tell you...it's not fun! I drive a 2 door VW Golf. We're going to look at Jeeps tonight. I hope we can find one because I'm stressing out about this!

    These guys need to check the carseat and STFU! I can hardly believe that they would have the audacity to say to get a new car. What the hell do they know about you? JERKFACES! UGH.

    I have a Jetta too....a 2007, so I guess mine is probably unsafe too. :( Is your car seat in the center or on one of the sides so you can use the LATCH system?

    That sucks. Keep in mind that once your LO is not in an infant seat (even still rear facing) it will be a better fit!
