Probably a 1st Tri Q - heating pad?

Sorry for the 1st Tri-ish question but is it ok to use a heating pad? I think I pulled a muscle in my lower back/butt and would like to put some low heat on it - nothing too hot.

  • Yep, just fine! If you get to the point of sweating, stop using. Make sure to keep you overall body temp normal, drinking water will help. Hope it feels better soon!

  • I use a heating pad on my lower back sometimes, on the lowest setting.  You just don't want to get your temp up too much, but I don't see how a little will hurt.
  • Heat away!  I use one a lot and it really helps.
  • My OB cleared using a heating pad, but warned me not to burn myself.  Yeah, because that's not common sense.  :)
  • Heating pads are fine as long as you keep it on your back--don't let it get near the front or sides of your belly.
