3rd Trimester

NBR - Credit card realted

So I purchased furniture from Raymore & Flannigan  and I got interest free until 01/01/2010.

So for the past 3 years my due date has been on the 26th of each month.  Interestingly enough I get a notice saying they are upping my payment due date 8 days which will now make my payment due sometime in the beginning of the month.

So when I get my bill in December the Due date is going to be January 3rd (or something like that) meaning that if I don?t pay my full balance off my 01/01/2010 I?m gonna be charged all the finance.

I?m gonna need to make a notice on my calendar to have my final payment in my 01/01/10 as opposed to the due date they are saying it?s due.

I guess it their way of trying to catch me off guard and make me pay for all the finance charges.

Re: NBR - Credit card realted

  • They're really bad right now. We had our dates changed and DH had his credit limit dropped big time on one of his cards (even though he's never maxed it out or been late on a payment!). Luckily we had almost nothing on DH's card when the dropped his limit.

They're doing just about everything they can to charge you extra fees. It's so frustrating!

Keep an eye on your cards ladies! They're out to get ya!

  • Yeah, I was shocked.  I'll be done paying it off by the end of the year anyway.  I just hope I don't get messed up with the new payment due date.
  • My advice is to make sure you pay well in advance of the 01/01/10 date.  I have heard companies who postpone posting payments so they can charge the finance charges.  Don't cut it too close...give them time to post it.  Can you pay online or in person?

Yeah good idea.  I have a payment due on 10/26/09.  I guess I'll just pay it off then, be safe.  I don't wanna get screwed.

  • Good for you for noticing the changes!  I am all over our credit cards these days - and we've had a heck of a time with some of them even though we make all our payments on time, etc.  One raised my rate for no reason, one cancelled my account for no reason (even though I had made all payments and had a LOW interest rate, etc.).

The new federal cc rules are about to go into effect, so all the companies are screwing people while they still can.

Good luck, and PAY THAT CARD OFF!  :D
