Vent - My husband is crazy!!!

 We are having our first hired babysitter ever coming tonight to watch Gavin so we can go to a dinner party for DH's work and last night when I asked how much we were paying her he said $20 per hour. I nearly threw up! She isn't even coming over until 7:30 which is Gavin's bedtime so all she has to do is come sit on the couch and watch TV. I don't know what in the world my DH was thinking. Seriously what an idiot!! I was thinking more like $10.

Now I don't feel like I can ask her to babysit again because she is going to expect $20 an hour. Sigh

    Yeah, I think $20/hr is too much. How old was she?

    We haven't had a baby sitter yet but I just asked DH what he thought was a fair price to pay and he said "twenty bucks and hour". He's really bad though about overpaying most household help so I'm not surprised.

    She's a freshman in college. Her plans are to be an early childhood education major and she works at the YMCA with their after school childcare program so I feel really comfortable leaving him with her.

    I'll babysit for $18!  ;-)

    We pay our sitter $8 an hour.  She is a freshman and she has watched Ethan since he was born, so I know she is good.  Bonus now that she can drive, I love that!

    I bet you can use her again, just make sure you do the paying from now on.

    Yeah, luckily DH's boss is paying tonight but that is exactly what I told him.

    Wow!  That's way overpriced, IMO.....unless she's going to clean your house too & make all your meals for the week.  :P
