If your RE has you do bedrest during IVF after the ET, what does this entail for you? How long? Does it truly mean flat on your back or is it just mellow/little activity?
Edited to add: I'm on IVF#2 so know my drill but am curious what others do....am also notoriously bad at just lying around (I always go back to work after my ER, etc) so am just curious how much I'm stretching it vs. others.
Re: bedrest during ivf?
You will have some restrictions after your ER: No heavy lifting, no baths/swimming and I was told no sex. No bed rest is needed, but you will want to take it easy.
As for after your ET... this is where there are varying philosophies.
Some REs have you on bedrest for a day or two and I believe want you laying down.
My RE does not require bedrest- you are simply encouraged to take it easy for the rest of your day of the ET and you can resume normal activities the next day.
I have an ET on Monday, and will go back to work on Tuesday.
I have done 3 transfers already and I have done 1. bedrest for a day 2. no bed rest and 3. a weekend of bedrest, and I still haven't had a successful pregnancy, so I am not really sure that bedrest is a deal breaker either way.
Good luck
my RE has bedrest for 2 days. i had to sit on the couch and lounge around. i could get up to get a drink/go pee/ grab a snack but i wasn't allowed to take the dogs out, clean, cook, etc. . .
good luck
