Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Has anybody stopped using the baby tub yet?

DS keeps trying to crawl out of it.  Plus, he just doesn't seem to fit in it anymore.  If you did stop using the baby tub - is there something you use to keep LO from slipping in the big tub??

  • we just got one of those bath mats with suction cups on the bottom to put in the tub. it works great. or you can get the duck tub by munchkin.

  • I stopped around 6 months, dd was able to sit up on her own really well at that point so slipping wasn't an issue.
  • We did at 2-3 months and ended up getting a foam thing for her to lay on...she hasn't used that in months. Bath tubs is basically me trying to keep her from crawling out of the tub and making sure the bathroom doesn't get completely soaked from her splashing.

  • Last night for the first time. I just put a hand towel down on the bottom of the tub for her to sit on. When she begins pulling herself up, we'll have to do something else, but for now, she loves sitting so it works. She loved it, prime splashing, you know!

  • I used it once and hated it.

I just use a bath sponge.

  • We stopped using it when DD was just about 8 1/2 months, but really we could've done it much sooner than that.  She LOVES being in the big tub.  She crawls all around in the water and splashes, etc.  We just let her have free reign.
  • We started using the big tub when he started climbing out of his bath seat about a month ago. We just switched the the giant Munchkin duck tub to save on water - since DS doesn't really need the whole tub yet. He loves splashing around. We stick some bath toys in there & he loves it. Although yesterday he was trying to climb out.... we'll see how long it lasts.
  • We only used it for a very short time.  Our kids hated it.  First we just used the kitchen sink.  Then around 5 months we put them in the bath seats in the big tub and ever since they LOVE bath time.  It lets them splash and grab for toys without us having to hold them (though obv. we stay right there).

This is what I do for sink baths.  I was just wondering what was out there  as far as non-slipping bath mats....
